Part 2: Preparing to use the native Eloqua SFDC integration

Aug 6, 2020

This is part two of the Eloqua SFDC native integration guide.  To begin this tutorial at the start please use this link.

In this part of my hands on how to you will learn everything you need to set up your inbound data using autosynchs on the Eloqua / SFDC native integration.  These are the parts of the integration that you will use to pull in data from SFDC.

Overview & Preparation

When the CRM Integration Setup is run, the transfer of data between Eloqua and SFDC is live. You must disable all integration points in order to customize the synchs based on the client’s requirements, and to also ensure that no data is being passed between Eloqua and SFDC until the client has signed off on the integration.

To disable the Internal & External Queues:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Setup > Integration.
  2. Click the Status tab.
  3. From the Reporting sub-menu, select Integration Reporting.

Turning off the SFDC autosynchs
  1. Beside Internal Event Queue Stats, there will be an icon that either says Pause or Enable. If it says Pause, click it to prevent data going from Eloqua to SFDC. If it says Enable, leave it (as it is already disabled).
  2. Beside External Call Queue Stats, there will be an icon that either says Pause or Enable. If it says Pause, click it to prevent data going from Eloqua to SFDC. If it says Enable, leave it (as it is already disabled).

To disable Auto Synchs:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Setup > Integration.
  2. Click the Inbound tab.
  3. From the Management sub-menu, select Auto Synchs. Here you will see all
Auto Synchs listed by the order in which they execute.

Disabling Autosynchs
  1. From the drop-down arrow next to the Auto Synch name, select Disable Data Import.

Disable SFDC Data Import
  1. Repeat this action for all 7 Auto-Synchs:
    • Get Deleted Accounts
    • Get Accounts
    • Get Converted Leads
    • Get Deleted Leads
    • Get Leads
    • Get Deleted Contacts
    • Get Contacts

Cloning SFDC Fields in Eloqua

Although Eloqua contains a number of common use Contact Fields, you will likely need to create additional fields in order to complete the integration. Cloning allows you to quickly create contact fields in Eloqua, as well as create picklists with the exact list of values from SFDC.

To Clone SFDC Fields in Eloqua:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Setup > Integration.
  2. Click the Configuration tab.
  3. From the Configuration sub-menu, select Manage CRM System Users.
  4. Salesforce should appear as a CRM System.
  5. From the drop-down arrow next to Salesforce, select List Fields. The CRM System Fields window opens.
  6. Select which Entity you would like to view the fields for.
    • SFDC Leads = Lead (lead)
    • SFDC Accounts = Account (account)
    • SFDC Contacts = Contact (contact)
List CRM fields
  1. Once you select the SFDC entity to display, Eloqua will display the complete list of fields from SFDC.
  2. As shown below, SFDC fields can be added to Eloqua one at a time or in a batch.

Note: that multi-select/single- select MUST be added one at a time, in order to correctly copy the associated select lists
