Part 3: Configuring outbound Eloqua SFDC auto synchs

Aug 6, 2020

This is part three of the Eloqua SFDC native integration guide.  To begin this tutorial at the start please use this link.

Configuring Auto Synchs

The fields to be mapped from SFDC to Eloqua are recorded within the SFDC Integration Field Mapping spreadsheet, in the SFDC updates Eloqua columns.

Configuring Autosynchs

In total, seven auto synchs are required to maintain an accurate integration. Only three of these auto synchs (Get Accounts, Get Contacts, Get Leads) need to be configured with the fields specified on the field mapping spreadsheet. The Get Deleted Accounts, Get Deleted Contacts, and Get Deleted Leads auto synchs may require modifications to the filter criteria depending on how often these synchs are going to run.

To Configure Auto Synchs:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Setup > Integration.
  2. Click the Inbound tab.
  3. From Management sub-menu, select Auto Synchs.

Access SFDC Autosynchs
  1. Click on the name of the Auto Synch to edit. The Auto Synch window opens.

There are two steps to updating the field mapping on the auto synchs. The first is to select the fields from SFDC to make them available for mapping. The second is to map the SFDC fields to the corresponding
Eloqua fields.

Click Edit next to Field Mapping. The Field Mappings window opens.

  1. From the Options menu in the top right corner, select View Field Selection.

SFDC Autosynch field selection
  1. Check the box next to each field that is to be synched with Eloqua, as noted on the appropriate tab of the SFDC Integration Field Mapping spreadsheet.

Note: If the field name is not on the Field Selection screen, it is either not available to the Eloqua SFDC user or the list needs to be refreshed. To refresh the list, click the icon at the top of the first column. This may take several minutes.

  1. Click Save once you have selected all of the SFDC fields.
  2. Close the Field Selection window. You will return to the Field Mappings screen with this message:

Refresh SFDC Source FIelds

TIP: Do not click on the checkbox of this popup. This prevents popup dialog boxes from appearing, but these are critical in the Integration area and should be displayed.

Now that you have selected the SFDC fields to be pulled, you can map them to Eloqua fields.

  1. Select which Eloqua field should be used to uniquely match the record. The Unique match fields should be:
    • Get Accounts = SFDC AccountID
    • Get Contacts = Email Address
    • Get Leads = Email Address
  2. Map each Source Field (SFDC field) to a Target Field (Eloqua field that the data will be written to). ).

Note: Screenshot below shows sample field mapping – refer to your completed Field Mapping Spreadsheet to map all fields requested for the integration.

  1. Once you have selected all fields and mapped them to the correct Target Field within Eloqua, click Save and Close.
